Four Mile UMC

Last November, Four Mile UMC experienced an unexpected change and lost their pastor. After numerous conversations with Matt and the Staff-Pastor Relations committees of both our church and Four Mile, District Superintendent Sherill Clontz decided to appoint Matt as the Interim Pastor of Four Mile UMC. Matt will continue to serve Weaver First UMC full-time while providing temporary pastoral leadership for Four Mile during this time of transition.

This decision was made with careful and prayerful discernment. Much consideration has been given to both the Headley family’s changing circumstances and the best interests of Weaver First and Four Mile. There is great potential for both churches to be strengthened through this process, since both churches share communities and school districts. The effectiveness of this solution will be re-evaluated in April, so that a longer-term solution may be reached before June, when regular pastoral appointments are made throughout the conference.

Please pray for Four Mile UMC, our DS Rev. Sherill Clontz, and the SPRC of both Weaver First and Four Mile. Pray that God will provide opportunities for shared ministry and wisdom for those in leadership. Any questions or suggestions are welcome as we discern God’s will in this time of change.
