Growing a Garden of Disciples

I’m excited to share that our Vision Team will complete our church visioning process this month! For the past eighteen months, we have diligently listened to God, our church and our community to discern how we are to fulfill our mission: "to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world."

Our church described a disciple of Jesus as "a person who loves God and others by giving unconditionally and accepting ALL."

We envision our church as a garden where God will grow disciples by planting, tending and harvesting fruit of new disciples and good works in God’s kingdom. This growth will happen through three “dimensions" of ministry: transformational worship, radical hospitality, and extravagant service.

Specific areas that have come into focus through our listening and discernment are utilization of our skating rink, ministry with the poor, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, Scouting, and inter-church ministries. We look forward to sharing God's vision for our church in the coming weeks and months ahead. Our communication plan will include a three-week series in worship focusing on our vision of growing a garden of disciples.

One specific strategy for growing disciples is a new Wednesday-night book study that will begin September 14. This study will be open to all adults in our community. Check out the article below or on our website for more details.

May God bless us as we grow disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world! Your servant in Christ, –Matt
