The mini food pantry was installed on December 23, 2016. The only advertisement to the community has been a few FaceBook posts. I have had several phone calls, all requesting information on how to donate. Most of these calls were from people in the community (only 1 was affiliated with the church). The pantry is being checked daily and refilled as needed. In the 4 ½ weeks that it has been in operation it has been refilled at least 8 times. It is a Praise report that we are able to provide food for those in need. We have had several anonymous donations of food that were placed in the pantry – this is a Praise report as well. Thanks to Heather Headley for the idea, and to Steve Kilgore for building the pantry (looks awesome). Also thanks to Steve Kilgore and Keith Kilgore for installing it. We have had several people to commit to either donating food or making sure that the pantry is filled. I will be distributing a schedule to check and refill the pantry soon. The pantry is a good example of growing a Garden of Disciples and also of serving others. Please continue to pray for this ministry as it grows and develops.
35 I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me. 36 I was naked and you gave me clothes to wear. I was sick and you took care of me. I was in prison and you visited me.’ Matthew ch. 25 v. 35-36
