God's Dwelling
Where is God dwelling? As leaves turn bright crimson and orange and the air cools, we are witnessing “glory sightings” of God’s presence in our ministries this Fall! Last month we saw a successful Church Work Day of decluttering and cleaning the FLC & Sanctuary basement, making our facilities more inviting. We then welcomed hundreds of people from the community for “Hallelujah Night” on Halloween to enjoy games, food, prizes, and even learn about our community outreach ministries like the garden and food pantry. Finally, I have seen spiritual fruit develop during the Enough series as our congregation discovered, or rediscovered the joy that is possible through simplicity and generosity. I am so thankful for our leaders and everyone who participated in these ministries. We are truly witnessing God fulfilling our vision of a garden of discipleship empowering our community to flourish in body, mind, and spirit!!
In November we will begin a four-week worship series entitled “Dwellings,” bookended by All Saints and Christ the King Sundays, with preaching texts from the New Testament books of Revelation and Hebrews. In this series, we will focus on Christ dwelling among us as both our high priest and humble monarch. Also, on Sundays November 4 and 11, we will Consecrate our Commitment Cards as we respond to God’s invitation to generosity through the Enough series. We will conclude the Enough series with a Celebration Sunday on December 9 to witness God’s spiritual fruit of generosity being produced among us. Upcoming opportunities to dwell with God include:
